Planning & Community Development

Planning & Community Development provides information and services regarding existing and future land use and zoning. Department staff process requests for site plan development, design review, conditional use permits, variances, zone changes, text amendments, subdivisions, nuisances, and sign permits. With a focus on building strong neighborhoods, Planning & Community Development performs long-range planning through community engagement, research, and analysis. The Department also provides Building Code services regarding new construction, building additions, rental housing inspections and code enforcement. Department policies reflect creativity, practicality, and common sense.

The Mission of the Planning and Development Department is to provide prompt, customer-friendly services. We offer advice, alternatives, and public education within a professional setting. Most importantly, we promote quality of life for everyone.
