The E911 Dispatch Center is a non-profit, publicly owned, PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) that serves the citizens and visitors of Frankfort and Franklin County. The Center answers calls for service and dispatch for the Frankfort Police, Frankfort Fire/EMS, Franklin County Fire, and Franklin County Sheriff's Department. This Office provides emergency management planning, preparedness, and information for citizens of Frankfort/Franklin County. The Sheriff is also responsible for collecting all state, county, school, and district taxes that are derived from assessed real, tangible, and intangible properties. The Kentucky State Police is Kentucky's statewide law enforcement agency. It was created in 1948, replacing its predecessor, the 12-year-old Kentucky Highway Patrol.
