The urban forest provides opportunities for great volunteer experiences in the out-of-doors. And because Frankfort’s Urban Forestry program has limited resources, volunteers play a critical role in accomplishing its goals. Volunteer activities may include: ● Planting trees and seedlings ● Pruning and mulching trees ● Street tree inventory ● Computer data entry ● Working with youth on tree related projects ● Working in parks ● Building and maintaining trails ● Erosion control ● Planting and maintaining flower beds and landscapes ● Control of invasive plants ● Lots of other activities Reforest Frankfort/ Arbor Day Event Date and time: April 4, 2009 from 9am to 2pm Place: On Old Lawrenceburg Road at the Boat Ramp parking lot near the East-west Connector and the Julian Carroll Bridge.
If you wish to volunteer, please contact: Andrew Cammack, City Arborist (502) 227-4326, (502) 803-0764
